4 Reasons Why Your Video-Game is Terrible!
You or your company has launched
a video game. Your game features a celebrity and you have spent heavy on
creating that game. The marketing was so outstanding that even David Ogilvy is
feeling insecure. Still the game is not making any noise on the play store. There
are only bad reviews about your game. Why? There is only reason: Your game is
terrible.
Why is the game terrible? Because:
Your captain is not a sailor: The guy heading all your departments
comes from a non-gaming field. It is okay to have someone from non-gaming field
on the board; you can get a different view. Make him sit besides the folks who
love playing games. But if he is the only decision maker then the situation can
go awry. Making a game is an art. A banker cannot make a great game if he does
not love playing games. Many gaming
companies nowadays hire non-gamer biggies for the top position. Then you know
what happens next? Your game becomes a TITANIC.
Monetizing is your only priority: Making a game is about creating
an experience. Your game will vanished if it is inclined more
towards making money and less on creating experience(s). It will suck, if at every
point you are making the users feel like losers when they aren’t spending money
on the game. Don’t stick a gun to their heads. Instead, create beautiful experiences.
Make gameplay a top priority and the money will follow to your bank account.
Ads, Ads & Ads: I would have covered this under Monetization.
But this needs special attention. If your game look like this then it is not a
game.

Bugs are everywhere: Your game has bugs. They are eating away your users. They will also eat away your game. Hire few quality testers, who can filter out
bugs from your game. Treat them well like you treat your developers and
designers. You know about 80% of games fails because of the ruthless bugs.
Quality is an experience altogether. Nobody likes crashes and freezes, or the
graphical glitches. Catch all the bugs before they sunk your game to doom.

I liked the way you write the reviews of the game institute monatised games and game bugs.
